Elam Transfer Promise announcement set Aug. 23 at Jackson State Community College

MARTIN, Tenn. — Officials from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, the Tennessee Board of Regents, Jackson State Community College and the University of Tennessee at Martin will gather to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at 10 a.m., Wed., Oct. 23, at Jackson State’s main campus. The signing is set for Room 111 in the Jim and Janet Ayers Center for Health Science.
The MOU will allow community college students attending under the Tennessee Promise scholarship program to seamlessly transfer to UT Martin once they have successfully completed an associate degree under the program. The Elam Transfer Promise is named for the late Kathleen and Tom Elam, of Union City, longtime UT Martin supporters.
Scheduled to participate in the announcement and signing are: Dr. Allana Hamilton, president, Jackson State; Mike Krause, executive director, Tennessee Higher Education Commission; Dr. Flora Tydings, chancellor, Tennessee Board of Regents; and Dr. Keith Carver, chancellor, UT Martin.
